Mountain biking in and around Sheffield

I live not far from Rotherham and wondered if there's any good people on here that are into mountian biking or know of any trails fairly local to me that I could give a go? I'm looking at getting a second hand bike. I like my road riding but fancy getting dirty!

Can't really describe any routes, as it was a long time ago... but if you get out of Sheff on the A57 then head to your left towards North Derbyshire round / near Ladybower and that sort of area there are some great rides.... but it's a bit '2 hrs climbing, 20 mins madness downhill' sort of riding. Fantastic climbing (not my thing) and good camping and pubs round that area, too. Anywhere in the Sheffield / Chatsworth area is worth a look. Happy Days!
