    Default K&n Filter , Will It Make A Differance

    Hi

    Will changeing my origional vauxhall air filter for a replacement K&N rectangular filter make much differance to my 2003 1.8 vectra.


    If so what are the advantages and disadvantages

    Some say a regularly changed standard VX one will do just as good a job.

    Others say it will do away with any flat spots, think most of the ppl on here will have one fitted, no probs so far.

    mine did make the car feel a smoother ride, whether it improved power, mpg etc, i didnt notice

    you'll have to clean one every 4000k miles and carefully re oil it. not worth it for any small performance gain you may get

    Some people say that the oil can bu66er up your maf sensor, which is expensive to replace. You get a steady build up of oil that come on over a period of time - so you wont notice it. Also have a read of this first before you buy one.
    I like of idea of quick, cheap performance mods but I wouldnt buy a K&N, looks like they could spell trouble in the long run
