Default MOT today with HIDs fitted and Cats removed 1.9 CDTi 150

After fretting about wether my car would go through the MOT with all the new rules for 2012 it went in today with the following mods (amongst others):

All cats removed (has passed the last 3 MOTS) Pre Cat pipe fitted
VX HIDs but no levellers or washers (once again has passed the last 3 MOTS)

Hybrid Turbo (first MOT I think)
    FMIC (first MOT)

And it passed with flying colours, no advisories

Its the third year running that the car has passed without any problems at Halfords Autocentre at £27 for the MOT (autotrader discount (search google))

Next up for the MOT is the Siggy in a few months time...............

Peter Griffin: Ah, c'mon, Lois, isn't 'bribe' just another word for 'love'?

Only problem I've had driving towards HIDs is when people who fit the to reflector headlights. I've had mine in my Vec for 3 years and have never been flashed once by a passing car. They aren't a problem when correctly adjusted in projector headlights.

As said a thousand times the Vectras'/Signums' headlights need HID's as the Halogens are a joke to the point of being dangerous imho.

As also said umpteen times, I quite agree the standard dip beam set up is appaling and dangerous, but don't believe HiD are the only option - and most aftermarket ones won't have the levellers etc to meet legal requirements.
I'd accept the blinding ones are probably incorrectly fitted, and I (as accused before) am not a HiD hater, I've considered fitting them my myself, and may yet do so once the current fuss over MoT's sorts itself out.
For now, with the beam raised to a sensible setting, and higher powered xenon gas bulbs, I can see where I'm going well enough.

when i went for my last mot just before xmas, i got told that there has to be a "cat box" showing and as long as it passes emmisions, they dont care wether its working or not.

if it has a pipe fitted were the cat should be, then it should be a fail.
