    Default Internet security ?

Ordered a new Dell Inspiron desktop computer last week (as mine is now 8 years old and slower than a Lada) and i've been looking at security software for it.
Costco are doing McAfee Internet Security 2012 + McAfee Family Protection for £17.98 including VAT.
Is this a good deal ?

Do you just want a package to cover one computer?

If so, then there's "Kaspersky Internet Security 2011, 1 PC, 1 Year Subscription (PC)" on Amazon for £8.99 inc P&P.

Don't be put off by the 2011 bit as IMO, they've made very few changes with the 2012 version.

Others will be along with different suggestions to Macafee, Kaspersky etc. but I'm happy with Kaspersky.

(Touching a large lump of wood) I have had no issues at all ever in any way using the AVG free edition, it regularly updates and notifies me when something dodgy happens.
