    Default how to disable washer fluid sensor

    hi was told that you can fit some wire and earth it to disable washer sensor

    1 where is the fuse to do it

    2 is it straight forward to do . wire in then to earth point is that it ?

    or put some tape around the float to make it think the tank it full.

    Maybe he has just had check control enabled and doesnt have the sensor fitted.

    For information -

    MOST vectra's will have the connector for the sensor tied up near to the washer pump in the space in-front of the near-side front wheel arch.

    If you DO have this plug, then simply link the two pins together.

    If you do NOT have this plug, then you will need to find pin 14 in connector number 2 of the under-hood fuse box. You will then need to run a wire from here, to a good clean earth point.

    As mentioned, I assume that he wants the bulb check facility, but cannot be bothered to mess about fitting a fluid level sensor.

    Normal Vx price is about £25 for the sender / switch, and the rubber grommet / seal is about £3

    Although youu can get the senders for less off ebay - but these do not come with the grommet / seal.

    Oh and yes, you will need to drill a big hole in the side of your washer bottle... approx 22mm diameter but I do not know exactly, as it is 12 months since I did the wife's.
