    Default Woohoo, thanks Scottish Power

Updated my account with this months Meter Readings
Your Direct Debit has been revised for next payment
Basically down by £35 per month
That has now put it back down to what I was paying in 2005

I take Meter Readings on the last Sunday of every month
I suspect this has come about by the rather mild winter as this last two months usage December 2011 and January 2012 is vastly lower than same period last year

I had already confirmed with them that the amount was likely to change after I complained as my account was heading for a small surplus (again)

You should do what I do and get that credit back
They usually argue "This will help reduce your bill over the year"
"Sorry I disagree and I will pay each and every bill as it arises, please refund this money with 14 days"

I've had two relatives in this position and both were refunded within 14 days
This all caused by the Direct Debits being too high

Updating your account once a month (end of the month) with Meter Readings is one solution
With Scottish Power the highest my credit balance has been in the last 18 months has been £65, which then results in a revised Direct Debit the following month

Don't need to worry about price changes, I am still paying the old rate from 2004 which is fixed to 2014
Scottish Power have tried numerous times to get me off this rate
    Sorry, but no
It was their fault for introducing it!

We are also with SP, and had built up a credit. I rang them and simply said I wanted it refunding, end of.

It's my money they had, and I can put it to better use than SP for me and my family.

5 days later there were 2 cheques through the letterbox - one for gas, and one for elec credit.
