    Default Astra exhaust gas water heater

    Stumbled accross an Astra exhaust gas water heater on eBay
    ( item 250970420185 ) and wondered if any one could shed any
    Light as to what this actually does

    Takes the heat from the exhaust gases and transfers it to the water circuit.

    That is all I know from a quick google search. Possibly were you get the heat from your blowers inside the car.

    cools the egr gasses before they enter the inlet manifold ..most modern dervs have them oh and there called egr coolers .....

    The pipe connects between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust gas recirculation valve, the purpose of the water jacket is to cool the exhaust gas before it enters the said valve and passes to the inlet manifold to be burnt again.
    Im not sure that the above makes sense LoL

    Ah too late .
