Thumbs down Some clowns on the road out there......

Left work in Edinburgh at 9pm tonight, dark as you'd expect. Joins the M8 at jct 1 and there's some guy behind me driving with only side lights on!!!! Switched my lights on and off a couple of times hoping he'd get the message, but nope. Gets to jct2 and still the pennys not dropped. So I slow to 60 to let him by so I can read his number plate. Y reg Yaris. Hes doing 75mph with only sidelights!!!!! Phones the Cops, I dunno maybe he's pis*ed. So anyway normally I come off at Jct3 but thought stuff it ill follow a bit further, past jct3a and on to jct4 and still no headlights... At which point I turn off and head home. 17 miles along Scotland's busiest Motorway with no headlights and you know what's the most surprising thing, no one else seemed to notice or be bothered.............
Friday past I was Lucky(unlucky?) enough to have a ride in an Ambulance, with one of our clients, on escorted blues and two's. Now I don't know if people just don't pay attention or deliberately do it but the amount of people who just don't, or wont get out of the way is shocking. You'd think even the most brain dead person out there would (a) recognise a wailing siren and look around them, including a cursor look in either of 3 rear view mirrors or (b) realise that the flashing headlights, blue, red and white strobing lights up their rear end was a sign that they should move out the way. Ooops sorry forgot mention were not talking about a single carriage way here but the motorway classified A720 Edinburgh City bypass!!! I really dont know how some people ever pass a driving test.

I had a woman few weeks ago. I was driving along dual carraigway early morning and it was very foggy and dark and this clown was doing 20 mph in OUTSIDE lane with no lights on. Or so i thought her front sidelights were on but none of her rears were.

Then on thursday sitting in queue of traffic at anniesland in glasgow when i heard sirens so i started to pull onto the crntral verge as best i could in the van and this t1t of a taxi driver in front of me wouldnt move despite the fact he had a car and a bit space in front of him. Despite sirens and me beeping him and shouting out the window i couldnt move so traffic car was stuck for a minute and giving me evils when he did get through.

At least they had sidelights on
I've seen people with NO lights on

A few weeks ago I saw someone join the M74 down an off-ramp, and only realise their mistake when they tried to join the carriageway, then they did a U-turn across all three lanes!

I had it the other way last night, some plank followed me out through Newport all the way to the clocktower roundabout with his main beam on.
I always give emergency services room as well, see many that don't. The standard of driving on the roads at present is appalling.
