    Default Drilling Airbox

I know its chavvy, but what are people's thoughts on it? I just want a bit more of a roar from the engine when giving it some. My thoughts are to do it on the side nearest the wing and on the lower half of the box, so you can't see it and it still filters the air. Also if I drill them in a straight line then one piece of Duck Tape will stop the extra roar and put it back to normal.

Already done the airbox mod, so got an extra 100hp from that. Just want a bit of extra noise to go with it!

Don't do it mate! I did this on my 2.2 non direct. I didn't realise it at the time but it made the car feel flat if that makes sense?!

It was only when I had my back box fitted that I decided to buy a new airbox from Vauxhall to replace the drilled one. Now, whilst my car is no fire cracker with 142 bhp at the wheels it certainly felt better with the non drilled box. The reponsiveness returned, it felt sharp to drive again and it didn't feel like it wanted to stall when moving off in traffic.

My advise mate, buy a Sportex back box if you want a bit of noise.

    Good decision buddy.

I even noticed a very slight kick at 4000 rpm return. I then found out that maximum torque arrived at 4000 rpm! Coincidence?

Although negligible my fuel consumption decreased with the non drilled box. Which was nice!
