    Default Galvanised bodywork ?

    Hello,
    I've got a black sri 2.2 direct 54 plate & i was just wondering if anyone knows if the body of my car is plain old steel or is it galv, like most cars these days ????????

    Its galvanised... I thought it was only mercedes who didn't now? They go rusty anyway!!!

    I remember reading somewhere that GM (Vx/Op) vehicles all had galvanised panels on the launch of the 2000MY ranges following the big changes happening about then in the company.
    Apparently it was a response to the question 'how can we improve our products?' put to several groups.... the top reply was to address the rust issue, common on Vx/Op vehicles.
    Damn glad they did too after both my Senator and Omega suffered from rust on rear arches and lower/under doors.

    that's good news did not know that, my 1998 astra started to go on the rear arches the rest of the car was fine.
