    Default Cold Start

    Hey everyone my car is stating to struggle starting first thing once engine is warm its fine could this be the glow plugs? starter motor sounds fine to me..

    How long is the glow plug light on dash for?

    Do you have a multimeter?

    a good 5 or more seconds yeah i have a multimeter....but not to hand as its in with my dads garage stuff...which he is moving house tomorrow... will be free soon though

    Check your glow plugs as they degrade, can be done with a multimeter.

    On the 1.9 CDTi I suspect the glow plug is inoperative until at least below 5C but if anybody knows different please correct me.

    If you glow plugs are dieing, try switching ignition on, let glow plug light go out, switch ignition off and on again a fw times, to try and build some extra heat into them. Then try and start.

    My old Rover was a nightmare to start even in the summer when the glow plugs weere failing.
