    Default recommend a remap please...

Been reading up and alsorts but a personal recommendation counts for a lot in my book.

    It's a signum, 2006 1.9cdti 150

What I'd really like to do is remap, remove the dpf and disable the egr, I can remove the physical dpf myself easily enough, I just need the computer side of things sorting.

Hoping for a gain in performance but more importantly better fuel economy, would rather not spend much more than £300 but I've seen so much variety in cost that anything's worth a look.

Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.

Sounds reasonable. I keep toying with the idea of mapping my laguna in the future.

Thanks guys, I'll speak to 'em.

What I intend to do with the dpf is cut it open, remove it's insides, weld a tube straight through the middle (probably perforated) and weld it shut again (I used to be a welder / fabricator). Would any of you guys have one laying round, and would you be good enough to have a quick measure of the internal diameter of the tubes going in and out of it for me please?

I suggest you have a word with Paul at RSTuning, Leeds.
He knows the 150CDTi engine and its software very well and has mapped my Vectra 150CDTi from 216 bhp first visit exactly a year ago to the rolling road figure on Saturday of 268 bhp and 437 lbs/ft. Previously it had done 275 bhp and 424 lbs/ft.
The ECU in your car is very complex and it is important to get a mapper who is conversant with the ECU and is keen.
