I have been to SMA Livingston a few times(now called Edinburgh for some weird reason), in fact thats where I bought my Vec. Never been to a van sale though. You used to be able to look at previous prices on their website, but you need to have an account with them to do that. Im off next week, if you let me know when the next van sale is I could get you a sales list.
Don't go to any bother mate , the only reason I ask is I've been told that the further north you go , the lower the hammer price , so it's worth me driving up there , rather than buying down this end
Big one in Glasgow ex fleet 2nd febuary
Id doubt it would be worth a 3-4 hour drive cheaper bud, bare in mind most wont be taxed either. I went for a look a few months back when looking for another car for the wife. By the time you figured in the indemnity the fact 99% aren't taxed it was as cheap and easy buying locally through auto trader/gumtree. Mind you small city type cars do seem to be holding their value.
As DasArab says, you need to price the "out" THE PRICE OF FEES ON TOP OF THE HAMMER.
Figure in extra corrosion on Scottish cars too.
as dasarab said mate you need to take in the fact of travel costs it wont be taxed etc so un less you getting it on the back of a transporter or have trade plates its a big risk a lot of the guys i know go down south like blackbush for the cars id look closer to home id bet it wont be to far out price wise
Thanks for the replies , the tax isn't a problem as I can tax it at a local post office using the green slip , I have considered the buyer's fees , but after talking to someone in the know , he said from personal experience that was my best bet.
Maybe he's right , I'm not sure , but with the online bidding they have introduced , that just makes for more competition .
I'll do some more research
LOL, Why? Our winters are no more harsh than Yorkshire or Wales.Originally Posted by andrew e
