Have a look at the 'age uk' web site or give them a call. My mrs has just done it for her mum who doesn't live with us and they were really helpfull.

We looked into it on our own and got no where. These people deal with this sort of thing all day and will tell you the best way to go about it.

Just to clarify it was her own house and not ours that they sorted out but 'age uk' is definately the best place to start.

    Good luck!

i got my loft insulated because ( at the time , when we were together ) we were receiving child benefits . ( 5 y/o and 3 y/o )

i would have had the walls injected too , but ........ i live in a timber structure house where the tiles run down the walls as well as the roof = l.o.l.

i would guess that at your age Danny , you wouldn't be classed as a child in need of warmth and heated water ,

Reminds me of the 60 year old who parked her car in a parent and child parking space and her 30 year old son got out ,

i think that's why most supermarket car parks now specify a maximum age of child .

speak also to your local council,
i believe they have teams there for various types of things,
if anyone has a disability or the such like,
they may well consider you for a home grant,

or you could go down the other route seeing that you are working ,

nip in to your social security office ,ask for a form for a crisis / budget loan ,
there are others they do but cant remember them off hand,
as you are working they will have no problem in trying to help{seeing as thety can get the money back,
some of the forms are for grants that you dont have to be paid back.
and seeing as its your mam. i think you can also talk about benefits to assist you with,

i work aswell and they gave me a loan to hire a removal company,

either way you cant lose ,

keep us all up to date how you get on,
