Default Please help before my 1.9 150 gets dumped in the Sea

I have tried to search through the forum for similar problems to what I have at present but nothing seems to be the same. My shed of an engine (05 plated 1.9cdti 150) has done 70ish'000. I have had more problems with this car in the last 18 months than I have had in the previous 15 years of motoring, and I have owned some poor motors. If I had the guts and lack of moral fibre I swear I would set fire to it...

Anyway, the car judders on around the 1'500rpm point, regardless of gear/idle etc. Driving around town is a pain as I struggle to select a suitable gear to run smooth and end up driving at 30mph in 2nd. The current MPG also appears to have dropped.

Over recent months I have replaced the Inlet Manifold/Egr and re-wired the injector's.

I have dumped a load of Redex Injector Cleaner in to see if this clears it up.

I am very reluctant to go to the Dealers/local garage as, 1 - I cant afford it at present, and 2- It has had this problem before the other problems that led to the repairs above and it was never highlighted on the Diagnostics so they'll probably be clutching at straws anyway.

I was going to clean the boost sensor in the next few weeks (dont know if it needs doing or not).

I'd sell this car but would feel bad passing it on to someone else, I'd feel like I'd burgled em...

Sorry about the massive rant, and if you have read this far... then well done !!!

Clean boost sensor for a start, then look for boost leaks on the pipes.... Has it been serviced regularly or recently?

Spunds daft but.... whem you rewired the injectors are you sure this was done correctly? Any air leaks on the inlet side/ manifold?

I'll crack on with the cleaning of the boost sensor tomorrow I think. The car was serviced in Nov just gone and the re-wiring was done at Vx.

    Thanks bud...

Fuel filter was done on last service. Would the plug to the EGR do anything if the EGR valve is new ??

Dirty map sensor, fault with the vacuum pipes going to the turbo (common problem for perishing - easy to check.)

    Or its a duff injector.

On my previous Vectra I bought a brand new EGR valve for my 04 CDTi, and it was fine for a few days then started stuttering and having no low down power, changed the EGR for another (thinking it was a dodgy one) and it was the same, fine for a few days, then back to stuttering, I think there is a SW update that needs to be done with the new(er) EGR valves on some engines - could be this.

FWIW, in the end I blanked my EGR valve off and never worried about it again - you could blank yours off temporarily just to test the theory though.

A system like opcom / vauxcom can be pluged in a measuring blocks used to see how the engine is running. This may help identify injector / boost issues etc.

Other than that I would sugest as above starting with the EGR and sensor first...
