    Default cam belt interval

does anyone know for definite the cam belt changing intervals for the 1.9 ctdi sri?

the car is on its way back from the dealers after looking at the possible dmf issue and as always there is lots of work they want to do.

they say it needs a cambelt change, its currently on 57k miles.

i very much doubt they have opened the cover as this was a free quote so are they just fishing for work or does it need to be done?

i dont know when it was last done but i suspect it hasnt been done, the car came with FSH but afaik it hasnt needed a cambelt yet according to guidelines?

it wont be vauxhall that does the belt if it does need doing tho!

£336 for the cam belt change they have quoted

Vx will tell you about 80k & then change the belt, it used to 100k... imo i would have the belt kit & water pump done at around the 60k mark... my motor had its first belt etc.. changed at 80k just prior to me buying it, then for my piece of mind at 125k the lot has been done again at a cost of £250 all in

I'm about to do mine this weekend at 70k

I bought a belt kit and water pump from Vx for 140 quid and a timing belt locking kit for 50, still much cheaper than putting it into a garage

As said dont just do the belt.

ALWAYS do the belt, tensioner and water pump.
