I haven't done it myself but its a difficult DIY job unless you're comfortable hacking you're headrests apart! You can get pre-fitted headreats but they're difficult to get hold of so a professional job is the ideal option but I would get some quotes first!! If I was to attempt a DIY job, I would personally get hold of an old headrest from a scrapyard and have a practice first! Good luck and let us know how you get coz I might have a go in mine!

Would be interested to know how you get along also as the SRi headrests are tiny and have often thought how easy a screen would fit into them

i currently use a velcro on one and because the headrests are so small and angular it is difficult to get them to hold tightly

    Cheers

you might want to think again about doing it yourself

i only did mine with 6 1/2 widescreen alpine tme 750
i had to remake the hole headrest a nightmare

your better of looking around ebay for ones already done for you

This is the reason I'm looking at a roof-mounted flip-down DVD screen - the stock headrests are way to small to accomodate anything decent.

I'm looking at an 8in widescreen flip-down screen, glove box mounted (maybe) DVD player with the remote eye near the screen, a boot mounted freeview tuner (in the future) and an FM modulator - which is going in this weekend now my FAKRA aerial adapters have arrived. I'm not doing IR headphones just yet, as my 2 year old won't keep them on!

Just a couple of things here...

    * Expect big VAT (and possibly duty) bills on anything you buy from Hong Kong - if you ever get it.

    * Those are headrest kits only - not the whole headrest.

    * Very few - if indeed any - headrest monitors will have loudspeakers on them - most will have a headphone socket, but you would also be able to install an FM modulator to channel the sound from the DVD unit directly to your stereo.

I see Veba do some 5.6in monitors for installation into headrests - are these still too big for the Veccie headrests?

I realised last night that the roof in the Veccie is probably too low to install a flip-down screen.

I feel a project coming on

Check out http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/home.html for a good selection of stuff. I also found them on Ebay, even cheaper (i.e. same seller, same goods, cheaper price) here: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/CAR-AUDIO-SECURITY
