Eek HID conversion "front bumper removal"

Just before I buy the conversion kit for Vectra C 04, why do you have to remove the front bumper, or is there another way round this.
I have never done this before!!

its easier to take the headllights out and the third bolt holding them in is behind the bumper.

I've mounted my ballasts behind the headlights thus not removing the bumper, but i'm going to mount them under the headlights as per the How2 guide as it took me flippin ages to replace my sidelight bulbs the other week with the ballasts in the way.

I didnt have to take the headlights out or take the bumper off, isnt that just for the facelift. Taking the airbox out makes it easier but even my sausage fingers managed to get in there no probs.

If you want to mount them under the headlight then you gotta remove the front bumper, its easy enough to do but if you have any problems with ur ballasts it gets quite annoying removing the front bumper everytime, in the end i just mounted mine were they could be accessed easily, Worth bearing in mind

The bumper is only held on with a few clips and comes off in about 10 minutes if you know what to do. Its very simple, just looks worse than it is.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I made a tool for removing the bumper clips from a piece of meccano. Where the holes are, I just cut in from one end of the meccano so the hole was then open so I could slip it under the mushroom head to ease it out. Also bent it at an angle so I could use it as a lever.
Made life a lot easier removing them, then I applied a thin layer of silicone grease on the stems to make it even easier next time I might have to remove them.
