Do you have a water leak on the domestic side? I am assuming that it is a combi type boiler with no storage tank.

It will be reading that there is a drop in pressure, and think that a tap has been turned on, hence busting into life until the pressure builds up again?

maybe the dhw flow switch is flow switch is faulty and jammed open causing it fire up get up to temp and shut down. if you look inside the boiler its the micro switch on the front of the diverter valve.get someone to open and close a hot tap and you should see a pin moving in and out which makes the micro switch.

the micro switch works fine. on the diverter valve the pin in the top stick out when boiler is switched on and doesnt move but make the micro switch

I will ask my Hvac engineer at work for you if not solved by monday, but of top of my head can only think its either overheat thermostat, Temperature sensor or the diverter valve. Could be the hot water microswitch is stuck so the boiler thinks there is demand for hot water. I only use to install and service central heating buddy so thats as far as my knowledge will help ya....
But as said I will ask the hvac guy at work Monday as he is in to service our water heaters and aircon.

Hope you get it sorted buddy.
