Default LPG Conversion On Its Way!

After lots of reading, research and a few questions answered on here, my Vec C 2.0T is booked in for the LPG conversion next week.

Chose to go with a company called Rapid Tuning (used to be greenfuels) located just outside of Bath.

The place came highly recommended on a number of other forums as well as here, so i am hoping ill be in safe hands.

Popped by yesterday and had a good chat with the chap who will do the job. Seemed really nice and answered every question i threw at him.

Its getting the BCR system with flashlube for extra valve protection. Got a choice of tanks.. Can go with one which will allow the boot tray to remain perfectly flat, or a larger one which would mean putting a 1.5 inch batton around the boot tray to raise it up. Will probably go with the larger tank as there is no extra cost.

Paying for it with a back payment i was owed, so only costing me about £200 from my own pocket.

Really looking forward to it and the reduced fuel bills!!

Ill post up some pictures when its all converted.

    Rgds

Car went in today for the Conversion. BRC system as it seems to be one of the better ones on the market.

Going to have a bigger fuel tank installed, so it will raise the floor of the boot by about an 1 1/4 inches. Colour coded filler in the bumper and if they can they will flush mount the gauge into the bottom blanking plate by the stereo.

Pick back up on Friday Really looking forward to this work to be done and enjoy the pleasure of not spending a whole load to fill the ****** up!!

I think LPG conversions are one of those things where they could lower the parts/instillation price and still make more money, with the price of petrol now more and more would opt for LPG if the price came down.

Not too sure what they will make of my engine bay when they lift the bonnet!! It had a good going over yesterday and looked pretty good!!

From what i am hearing both on here and on the likes of the Subaru forums, BRC is the way to go, and the place where its being done has a good reputation.

The other thing i have gone for is a Countrywide Farmers LPG account. Its a key and pin with fuel bills by direct debit each month. Quite a lot of places to fill up in the area where they serve, and being key and pin the pumps are 24/7. Price per Ltr is also down on what the forecourts sell at

Of course, pictures will be made available on completion ... Fingers crossed the install goes without a hitch!

It's actually really easy to install LPG, I've done a few of them now.
Just get the parts from Tinley Tech or buy a second hand kit and buy new piping from Tinley.

I didnt even know my engine had a timing chain and not a belt until last night.... Perhaps not the best of ideas for me to have a go installing it!!

But, from what i have read, the process is not that difficult. Main area of concern others mention is if the inlet manifold needs to be removed or not?
