Got out of the Signum this morning after a short drive home from work (I work nights) and immediatley got a whiff of a burning smell. Quickly checked all of the wheels/brake discs and they seemed fine, not over heated. The burning smell seemed to be coming from under the car, inbetween the two wheels. Now all I could think of is was the car doing a regen. Knowing nothing about this subject, only from what I have read about it on this forum, the cat/exhaust etc gets really hot. I stand to be corrected if I've got this wrong.
So would it have been going through this process this morning?
Couldn't really see much this morning anyway as it was dark and p***ing it down. And if I remember it happened about 6 months ago, but I never really found out why it smelled of burning after checking brake discs etc as I though it was a brake binding, but found nothing wrong there.
