Headlight Alignment

I have a 2006 facelift Vectra, my main beam is pointing to the left in the direction of the ditch!

I would like to know if I use the left/right up/down adjuster does it move both the dipped light and the main beam light? I have read contradicting posts on this. Some people say yes both lights are adjusted, some others say only the dipped headlight is moved, which one is it?????

It moves the entire headlight assembly.

First thing I'd check is that the bulb is seated correctly.

Lights should point to the left in the UK, so as to illuminate the side of the road so you can see pedestrians and to avoid dazzling oncoming cars on the right. That's not to say that yours aren't pointing too far to the left though...

It's the main beam, it should be fairly central
I tend to check by getting about 2 metres from a wall and marking the inner edges of the dipped beam
I then switch them off and switch the fog lights on, then the main beam
This is a much easier way to check the main beam is aligned and central

that answered my question lol..

my main beam points to the middle of the road but they sort of cross paths a few feet infront of the car and its annoying...

id like to adjust the main beam so as they run a bit more parallel instead of crossing but im worried it will affect the dipped beam too much..
