    Default Why chose an SRI???

    ...Over say a Design or Elite?

    Think about it, the SRI suspension is firmer and lower, but everyone seems to junk it in the first five minutes, then they add all the toys off the Design and Elite!

    O.K. you get bolstered seats, and bigger alloys but what else?

    Would you not be better just sticking big alloys on a design or an Elite, along with a set of eibachs?

    Or am I missing the point? Or being akward

    I done it the proper way bought an Elite and turned it into an SRI well now it's a pre facelift VXR.
    Insignia VX-Line Nav CDTI 170.

    On an sri (over an elite) you get sports seats, a boot spoiler, sports front and rear bumpers (colour coded side skirts on the prefacelift), a sports exhaust, lower and stiffer suspension, larger anti roll bars, silver dash trims and probably a few other bits.

    sri - sport
    Elite - comfort

    Also remember that all of these cars were new at some point and I could be wrong but I think the sri was cheaper than the elite

    Another think to note is that the costs of painting these days makes the electrical mods a fair bit cheaper to retro fit

    If I knew When purchasing the car what I do I now I think I'd have bought a design signum. Even though I do have XP2 which wins it over again when I think about it. Lol

    And the sri has a closer ratio gearbox and sports chassis. But now i have childen i would deffo get an elite. Would have to be faclift though, dont like prefacelifts with none sri bumpers.

    Signum range was always a model ahead of the Vectra roughly.

    SRI's were always cheaper - just. Design is the direct equivalent of the SRI, the Elite is more in line with the GSi/VXR except it is aimed at comfort rather than appearance. That's one reason Vx made the Vectra elite an auto only with the 2.8T otherwise there wouldn't be much justification in buying a VXR. VXR and GSI could always be specced toy wise like the Elite though.

    I worked in a company where I rented cars every week when flying South, I had driven over a hundred Vectra's easily and where I like the Design and Elite found the seats far too un-supportive compared to the SRi. I prefer the spoiler, darkened lights, sport seats the alloy wheel design lowered suspension, all in one package over the need to buy a car and strip and change the major items to make it as I like it.

    For this exact reason my next car will be another SRi Insignia this time but with the 18" twin five spoke alloys over an SE or Elite!

    Nothin to go wrong inside an Sri because there is nothin in them
    Vectra vxr custome remaps egr deletes dpf and diagnostic work all remaps are custome bench tuning avalible all genuine equipment PM for info
