Due to my on going cold start problems i am thinking of having a non return valve fitted.Could some one tell me what diameter i would need on the valve and does it be installed in line after the fuel filter?thanks

Make it a hand pump with a non-return valve. Kills potentially 2 birds wth one stone
Easier pump priming, and no drainback
Something like this...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HAND-PRIME...item1c2240480c
However, i'm not sure about the hose size. Hopefully someone else here may be able to help with that
Thanks mr derv for your reply, think of just doing the non return valve on its own 1st tho, dont think the wife would fancy opening the bonnet every morning to prime the diesel!!lol
You wouldn't need to prime it every time, only if it's "ever" run out of fuel Lot easier than waiting for the high pressure pump to draw the fuel through if it's run dry
Added bonus of it having a non-return valve in it too
Ah right, sori Mr Derv i must have mis-understood you,it might be an idea to fit one of those then,i just thought by the look of your`s that it would have to be primed on a daily basis on the 1st start of the day.
No worries Like i said, potentialy kills 2 birds with one stone
Hi VH, on my vec o4 dti, its 1/2 inch, that's what the fittings were when I fitted my fuel heaters.
