    Default PC purchase....

well the time has finally come for me to purchase a porter cable. getting a serious bug to do something with the car what with the run up to christmas and i'm really trying hard not to buy some wheels/ICE for it at the moment.

so i thought the best to do is to buy a PC and work on making the standard car look shiny.

i think it's going to end up being my xmas pressie from my fiance, so all i'll have to do is purchase the products. but i'll be d@mned if its getting wrapped up until then!!

here's to a shiny swirl free future! haven't even ordered yet and already giddy with excitement!

LOL!! the corsa will be the test subject!!!

i know it's a slippery slope, but at least when the car is gone i'll still have the PC and products to use on another car.

not that the vec is going anywhere!

And there's always a Signum in Watford that can be tested on just to make sure before you do yours

well, i'm probably going to go through the autopia route, got the discount code from shaun (182 blue) on detailing world.

although i've just done a quick ebay search and wondering whether it's cheaper to get it from the guy that micky (armoured farmer ) bought his

    ebay item

what do you reckon? will it work out pretty much the same as if i bought it from autopia?

Well Stevie gets a good name and I think he gave Micky a demo aswell which always helps eh

One advantage of Autopia is that you can get a lot of other bits & peices at the same time, I'm not sure Stevie does the same full range but you can always ask

He def does do the 4" spot pads and backing plate though which I would get as they are good for cutting in bumpers etc and can give a bit more "cut" where you need it

    Bryan

PS I see pretty much everything you would need, I prefer using Megs #80 & #83 which I don't think Stevie does but you know who does eh LOL

well i had a pc demonstration from mark brazenda back in the summer, so i'm pretty sure i'll be comfortable using it.

as you said, getting some other stuff from autopia whilst i'm at it can't be bad. been eyeing up some der wunder drying towels to replace my megs water magnet.

and getting a free gift can't bad either.....is Sonus Detailing Spritz the same as Megs Quick Detailer? If it is then i might just pick up the shampoo instead and try that out.

The Sonus is closer to a sealer than a the Megs, both get good write ups but I'd go for the Sonus myself as it's finish is slightly sharper and clearer than the Megs......just closer to the "just detailed" look......both are compatible with any wax finish

bryan, what's the difference between the DAS pads and the SFX ones? which ones would you recommend i get and why?

i'm gonna get the 4" spot pad kit aswell, should i get a few pads of each type or not bother with them all. which ones am i likely to use most often? that goes for the six inch pads aswell.

    cheers!
