    Default Buying a cdti

Hi guys, as you may well know, my 2.2 dti has died and now im looking for a replacement. I have decided to go with the 1.9 cdti 150 and will be buying it mid February. i just want some advice from owners about what to look out for when buying one.

    Thanks in advance.

Buy 57 plate onwards as I believe most of the common issues were resolved by this point.

In all honesty my budget isnt big as this was kind of sprung upon me. also i prefer the prefacelift so am looking for 80k or less mileage preface 1.9 150. what are the common problems? also will use these to drive the dealers price down lol

Try and get an Elite. The spec on the SRI's is minimal.

I went to see several CDTi's when I bought mine a few weeks ago. The most common and obvious fault I found was the temperature gauge not working, working intermittently or incorrectly reading.
I guess it's the thermostat, which aren't cheap.

1.9CDTI (150) is great as long as you either get it new, or over 100k by which time all the expensive common faults have usually been fixed.

manifold and EGR valve.alternator can go go these
