At the end of the day if you tap into the screen washer then when you go for a mot they would fail you as the head light washer only work with the light on not when the go the clean the screen ? When I did my headlight washers it cost me about £130 and that was a second hand screen washer bottle that had all the pumps in it so it saved me so money

Keep an eye on GPS, carpartsconnexion, Ebay etc for the bits you need. Im sure I did mine for around £60 using these places. Get the hose off ebay, 8mm Internal Dia high pressure rubber hose is about £2per m. Dont worry about the clips, just use normal jubilee clips.

I got the new washer tank the second pump and everything but mine did not have the loom so as a temp measure I tapped into the wiring for the standard pump with a diode so it did not opperate with the rear washer...

The original washers had a 15A fuse on mine and it has only blew it once when it was -12 last winter and both motors stalled.... It has passed three MOTs now with them operating with the windscreen ones... I think the original fuse values are a bit over kill.

I don't know if I will ever bother getting the loom, it seems too much effort when they are fine like this....

Well yes it would work that way. But whats the point in doing it that way? If you have the loom in place just stick a relay in the fuse box and activate the setting. Plenty of people near you with opcom, just post in your local region. And if you don't have the loom it will take you the same time to add it as it will to add the stand alone relay to the head lights.

The pump can be had off Ebay for about £15-20, the Omega one is the same and is generally cheaper. Thats a good price for the hose assembly.
