no power steering

hi was wondering could someone help me.. my wife was driving home when all of a sudden lost power steering.. stoped the car and then would not start... i jump started it to get it home but still has no power steering.. would the alternator be gone? any help would b great..

When that happened to me it was the ps pump (had to drive back from Val D'Isere with no ps!)

Only kidding m8, yeash mine done this at signumboys house - goosed alternator.
