Sri Turbo Gearbox Crunching

Hi
My Vectra Sri Turbo crunches in between 1st and 2nd gear then 2nd and 3rd gear it has 109,000 miles on the clock does this mean gearbox goosed ??
Got a list of problems with this car working my way through them lol
Any help pls

for the gears you need to drain out the gearbox oil, all 3.2 litres of it and refill it with only 2.4litres, this is the official vauxhall fix for this issue.. I used fully synth Castrol SMX gearbox oil when i did mine

thanks that doesn't sound to bad a friend of mine said something about cables been stretched underneath might need replacing not sure what he ment but think i'll go with the oil is it easy to change ??

it could be the linkage that needs looking at but you can do the oil yourself and if anything it leaves the gearbox with the correct level of oil and will only help it. as you currently have a process of elimination to go through its worth doing anyway and it may sort it.

Assuming you have the 2.0turbo if it is your engine code is Z20NET and you have an F40 gearbox for future reference.. Some people thing the F40 is notchy anyway, personally i think its fine and find the F23 to be worse..

If you do a search on here for linkage you may found some info or somebody who has played with the linkage may eventually look into this thread.

Some good advice thanks, i'll change the oil this week and go from there i think got loads of problems with this car so i prob be back soon to pick your brains again

Gunna sit in morn write big list you will be sick of me in end lol
I swaped my 1 owner Lexus IS200 full service low milage a real 1 off cost me 3 tyres and a service in nearly 4yrs for this Vectra, i've spent £400 already on the vectra and i've got loads more to do and i've only had it 4 weeks gutted lol but with the help and advice i've had on here i don't think its going to cost me as much as i thought. Love the car though nice power and great handling but take my advice and keep away from swap sites !!
