    Default 17" tyres for GSi

    Evening all.

Which are the best tyres for my 53-plate 3.2 GSi. I'm not made of money but would much prefer some decent tyres, preferably with rim protectors. Any and all advice, along with supplier details, would be appreciated.

    Default Noo Tyres

Tried most tyres over the years, best I found so far are Michelin, worst of course remoulds, recently had a spate of Goodyear tyres bursting the sidewalls due to country "road stones" at the side of the narrow roads near me, have not yet had any type of probs with the Michelin Primacy though and fully recommend them especially for the high levels of grip U get, the lads on here seem to be using 225/45/17's, I have the same size as were fitted by VX 215/50/17, the above are more common & will probably be cheaper than the latter but I would not fit Goodyear tyres (NCT5) ever again.

Defo go for the 225/45/17s as they are far cheaper then the 215/50/17. They have very similar roling radios so the speedo is the same and as they are more common they are are cheaper. Try here http://www.blackcircles.com/

Indeed.. just fitted some Conti sport contact 2's to the sigbum..cheaper than the Goodyears and give cracking handling..grips forever..

And at 100 quid a piece, it makes the 225's much cheaper than the 138 quid they wanted for the 215 goodyears..

Good year F1s 225/45/17 less than £100 per corner, grip is excellent & apparently wear is good too (haven't had mine long).

Oh and they look very good with a "V" tread pattern.

And they have the rim protectors.
