    Default saab 9-3 2.0T CONVERTIBLE

    My dads has just put a deposit down on a 04 plate one for my mums 50th bday prezzie, what engine are these? Same as vec 2.0T?? Is there anything to look out for problem wise on these saabs? And now saab is goin bust will the prices really crash? And finally my dad wants to know if you think its a birds car, or will a fella be ok driving it! Lol

    Its a posh vectra The vec uses the saab engine, they have similar problems so just look for the usual.

    Yep mate same engine as the NET, and I believe it has the larger turbo across the range, the same as the Vec facelift one. Pretty bullit proof engine, but as said its a ve tra under the skin so will have the same weak points.

    It has a slightly different chassis than the saloon, as it has extra bracing underneath.

    As said same things as a vec with the exception of the rag top. If I remember rightly the convertibles were built in austria though by steyr magna for saab. Plenty of parts available as the running gear and engines are the same as vx.

    It is a bit of a girls car imho but plenty of fellas drive them.

    yes, it's the Z20NET. If the rear badge says '2.0t' it's 173bhp, if it says '2.0T' it's 207 bhp.
