    Default Diesel Vs Bio Fuel

Has anyone tried running on bio fuel?

My brother has been looking into this, and in yesterday's local rag it seems that a local company has started producing & supplying bio fuel.

I don't know how much per ltr yet, but they issue you with a certificate to keep the tax man happy confirming you have paid the fuel duty.

    any comments / experience?

theres an independent garage near barnsley that sells it and they have at same price as derv.

once followed a van in nottingham and all u could smell was a chippy smell coming from the exhaust.

Theres a couple of guys at work that just use old chip fat.....

Simply just put it through a cotten filter and then into the fuel tank, works a treat they say......

I was listening to Talk Sport last night and there was a guy who does exactly this on his 1 year old Shogun, no problems what so ever, and his local stealers say it will not effect his warranty.......

there was a thread on this before, and using Bio-fuel has been linked to injector pump failures on the commonrail engines... if you've got a CDTi i'd give it a wide berth..

It doesn't seem to affect DTi's thou as the design is older..

I run a veggie oil mix and derv in my 306 D Turbo as it is a pure old mechanical diesel. Runs great and just waiting til bro in law passes his test to give it to him.

Avoid on ANY common rail engine. Too high pressure and not enough lube on the fuel pump....

    IMO anyway....
