    Default Z20Net Lonlife stainless Exhaust

    Hi Everybody

Thanks to some help from Dek I have managed to get hold of the twin holed rear lip extension for my Siggy. Now is the time for a trip to Longlife up near Birmingham for a Stainless Exhaust system Wooo Hooo!!!

However, has anyone had this done and does anyone have any tips, also I don't really want an increae in BHP (I know i'm boring) as my insurance will change, does anyone know if I can fit stainless steel parts and it not effect my insurance, I am not sure I want to ask my insurance company this question just yet.

Any help, comments or suggestions are always greatly appreciated guys.

Keep Diameter the same as your current system, do not fit free flow boxes etc.

You will still need to inform your insurance company that you have an aftermarket exhaust fitted as it is a modification from the original spec (wifes an insurance underwriter).

Good info thanks buddy, hopefully it wont affect my premium too much then. I'm only getting it as it is cheaper than a vuaxhall system.

well she says in theory if you were to fit a kwik fit exhaust you would still need to tell them as its not vx one.

how true that is who knows would be a desperate insurance company to refuse payout in that senario lol

i had the MIJ one as it was £380 with trade from vx for my single backbox to be replaced - then the mods started lol

The same could be said for the tyres when you replace them!

Respectfully, I don't think that's true, you could say that a set of brake pads from Euro Car Parts is a mod, or spark plugs from a local motor factor. Insurance companies can't apply unfair terms like that, because they'd get rebuked by the FSA. I think there's a big difference between being an underwriter and being in claims.

All good points and an interesting debate, I wonder if there is a caviat that it is ok as long as the performance and minor asthetic of the car does not change

Right the power that be the wife has spoken......if it in anyway increases the performance or they believe it increases the performance then you need to declare it.

If its a cheapo one from KF then no as long as it doesn't, or doesn't give them reason to believe it increases performance.

Anything that can be seen as a modification, increase performance or increase the risk of theft they want to know about.

She is well qualified on the insurance side of the fence aswell.

If they beleive you have other modifications at time of claim they are more likely to investigate also.

I agree with all that; it's different from having to use only Vx parts though, otherwise there wouldn't be many cars on the road that were invalidating their insurance.
