Default What's happened to my blowers????

Got in the car this morning, and my blowers weren't working to de-mist the window. When I got to work, and turned the engine off and took the key out, the blowers were blowing, but now wouldn't turn off.. (even with engine off and key out).

I then got back in my car about 15 mins later and the blowers were still blowing. This time I got a burning smell coming from the vents (smells exactly like TCP) and my blowers were changing speed all by themselves. They finally went off and now back to square one as they won't turn on again. Now my car has a lingering smell of TCP.

I put my car through an automatic car wash last night, could that be the cause of it?

Any ideas on what it could be and how to rectify it would be great, I don't want to go to an auto electrician as I will put my hands to anything and would like to have a go at fixing it myself, I just lack information on why it happened and what to do

sounds like one of your modules burnt out, search the forum for climate control and something should pop up. one persons on here burnt out quite severely almost like it could have caught on fire.

    found it for you../

    Hi Plasma,

Thanks for taking the time to find the link.

I will be removing the fuse in the morning and cleaning the scuttle tray (though I think the scuttle tray is pretty clear)

I will check the resistor pack to see if it looks damaged, it really did smell like burning electrics and I had to open my windows whilst driving because of the smell.

It kind of fits in with Chuddy saying it is water damage, as I put my car through the car wash last night!

    Such an expensive part though

    Thanks again.
