Spare a thought for me, I live within the CC zone about 300 yards from the boundary , I would have to pay £4 a week with residents discount (90% off) but if I only use the car once a week it works out to 50%. I did ring them and ask why I had to pay for a full week at a time and was told "it would not be worth collecting such a small fee" so I replied "if it is to small to collect then it must be to small to for me to pay so why bother charging in the first place" the phone went quiet for a moment and the answer was "that just the way it is sir". Seems potty to me that they actually encouraging me to use my car as much as possible to get my moneys worth for the week.
Unfortunately my dear old dad is disabled but the upside is he can apply for a discount (£10 annually and no further charge) and he can register a second permanent car (mine) and I can ring CC and have it changed on a temporary basis for a visiting car. If my dad was not in his situation I would really be p*******f . The boundary is a right turn and I hardly ever turn left and drive into the zone.
