Exhaust hanger broken /rotted from exhaust.please help.
The bracket that attaches from the underside of the exhaust and is supported in the exhaust rubber of the hanger has rotted away(rusted). From the forum this appears to be a common problem. Can't find anyone who wants to help me by welding.
Found an old thread about buying an convenional exhaust clamp and having a peice of tube welded on to it and using this instead.
Can anyone help with info or photo's etc.
P.S I live in the London Middlesex area.
Many Thanks Nick.

My exhaust support bars fell off years ago.
I made a bar that goes under the exhaust pipe and secures in the rubber. Not clamped, welded etc.
In fact you will find it very difficult to weld anything to it, as it will be thin and will disintergrate instead of weld (probably)

It welds easily.
To the OP, just go to any back street garage or exhaust fitters and ask someone to do it at lunch for £20 cash.

I wish i could find someone. No luck yet,all the exhaust places want to sell me an exhaust section when there's nothing wrong with the pipe itself.
I am willing to travel to get it welded or for others who have made up there own support is there a chance of any photo's
The support which has broken away is just forward of the 'Y' section where it splits to the two tail boxes.

Please let me know how you get on.I'm at a bit of a dead end, can't get anyone to weld it and can't find a bracket on e bay where the support rod is at right angle to the direction of the pipe.Mine broken directly forward of 'y' secton. Is yours also a twin tailpipe exhaust and broken in the same place?
