    Default H&R or Eibach?

    Hi guys,

Im currently running completely standard suspension on my 56 plate Elitebut the plan is to keep the wheels it has as I like em and lower it for a better stance and better handling. I dont want to go too low so springs will do the job but what experience do you have of H&R and Eibach? I've always had Eibach in the past and cant fault them but somebody told me that he thought H&R were better still.

Its the main thing my car needs IMO as its got the toys, the power with a green box and I've done an LED conversion on it too... Its just lacking in the handling and looks dept at the min.

    Cheers,

    Karl

Most people on here seem to go for the Eibach ones, but I've got H&R 40mm drop springs on mine combined with Bilstein B6 shocks. Love them, not too harsh, but feels tight and gives an awesome stance.

I have eibach's with sri/design shocks. Wow what a ride, nice and low too. They are really firm and smooth at the same time. 30mm drop

When one of my VX springs broke, I upgraded to Eibach. The transformation, even just swapping the crappy springs for the Eibachs with no other changes, was very impressive. The car just feels much more planted.

I want to fit Bilsteins next but can't decide - B4 or B6. To be honest, the B6s are too expensive for me at present. Also, I think they are for lower (than GSi-spec) springs and I don't want to go lower than standard GSi ride height. So I shall likely go for B4s in due course. I cannot wait!

If you go for the Eibachs, you won't regret it. I have no experience of the H&Rs, so cannot compare or comment on those. But ditch the crappy, stringy VX springs as quickly as you can!

That looks spot on to me then. I just wish I could get some that lowered the front slightly more than the back.
