So other than Looking good... Is there any reason why you would have them, what are they meant to do?

I'm assuming deflect the wind from blowing too much in your face when you open the window?

If you smoke(I don't but still have them as like how they make the car look, only he'll ones though) then you can have the window open when it's raining and still smoke without getting wet

I don't really see what benefit these do, and will only end up costing money as they will increase air resistance and decrease aerodynamic performance. Doesn't make sense to me, but whatever floats your boat

They do what it says on the tin
Primarily they are used on cars without air con, they are fairly useless on cars with air con

When used you should roll the window down a small amount, it allows air ventilation and extraction with no noise and turbulence to the air within the car, especially to the rear seat passengers
In effect it is an extractor fan using the vehicles passage through air, as they push the air flow slightly out of its normal flow

They are also of benefit to smokers, to increase ventilation and suck smoke out from the cabin area

I had them on my first car, which did not have air con and were great in the summer
