If you're going to keep it for 3 years, my suggestion is not to go for the A3. As stated earlier, it's about to be replaced, hence why it looks like good value now (extra equipment is being thrown in to stop demand collapsing). Audi have already shown the interior of the new car, and the exterior will be revealed in two months time. If it takes 3-4 months for UK sales to start, then for 2 and a half years of those three years you'll be "stuck" with an obsolete model. It's a bit like buying a new Vectra in late 2008 when the Insignia was about to come out.

To be honest I am not bothered about it being replaced. The New A3 S-Line may not be here until early 2013 and the standard equipment levels won't be as high in the beggining.

I would rather have an end of line old model with everything in than the new one with less kit.

If it was my money, the new model may be worth waiting for, but if it is company money then why worry.

Fair enough, you're a toys/kit person rather than a design person, I can understand that. Me, I think back to 1999 and imagine would I rather have had a fairly boggo Ford Focus, or a fully-laden run-out-special Escort with the flash alloys, bodykit, spoiler etc that Ford used to shift the older model, and I would have taken the Focus. I couldn't work out why people kept buying the Escort estate that stayed in production for a year after the Focus was launched.

I spend alot of time in the car so having a nice enviroment is important. The new A3 is just a re-skin of the old car.

OK it will have the latest technology, new dash and a fresher look, but after the initial launch of the car has passed after a few months it will be common place.

I will have one of those cars like an 09 reg Vectra, or a S Reg Mk3 Astra. One of the very last on the latest plate!
