Default Forgive me father as I have sinned!!

Due to a change in circumstances with the opt out policy at work. Coupes and 3 doors are now not permitted, so the CLK has to go, which I am really sad about because I love it.

But after the last 5 years of saying I would not get another Audi after the last diabolical S-Line we had from new. It looks like am about to stray back to the dark side!

Just about to order a new A3 Sportback!

    2.0 TDi S-Line Black Edition
    Ibis White
    Full Leather
    Heat Front and Rear Seats
    Cruise
    iPod Integration.

Looked at all the car options as I only want a car this size, and the Black Edition has so much kit as standard compared to anything else.

Even the Golf GTD was £2000 more expensive with the same level of kit.

    What do you think?

I remember you saying ages ago that your employers were now insisting that you have a german car (or german-branded anyway), they seem to be very fussy/controlling on what you buy....

One the subject of the A3 though, it's about to be replaced, so deals should be good, but you'll have an obsolete model shortly.

I've just started working for Audi... I have to say their visions and goals are very high ... The new product is superb and the Black editions are beautiful ..
I think they have upped their game again And their customer focus has also changed for the better..

I for one say I've it a go Matt

Our old MD who retired at Christmas always moved the goal posts. Which didn't help. We had 7 years on the opt out scheme with no restrictions then the word was it had to be German.

But now my boss has taken over, we have a set budget for a company car and the base line for my position is now Mondeo Titanium X or ANY other car that does not exceed the Mondeo's list price.

Sorry Maverick just order it, if it's a company car it's not your expense so I don't see the complaint. I have seen worse car lists and any with an Audi on it isn't a bad one especially if it has the kit on it you mention.

It's not a company car, it's a car to be bought by Maverick using money from his employers instead of a company car (that's how I read it anyway)

Your right, when I started this thread, it was about me buying it, the opt out scheme is still there and the budget covers the A3. This is where I was heading with it.

But the new MD said to me last night via e-mail, that as it is a cheaper, low emmision car and better MPG than the standard I would have as a company car (A4 SE), if wanted to come back into the scheme, he would get me this black edition A3 with all the options I have chosen.

So it leaves me with a dilema.

    A) Buy it and stay out of the company car scheme, I would not pay company car tax, but I do pay £65 a month in tax for the over payment off fuel allowance above the government standard.

But I take the risk with ever rising fuel costs, so I risk paying out of my own pocket.

    B) Take the car as a company car, pay the £136 a month in company car tax, and have no risk, everything covered and know that in 3 years I will change it for another new car.

I know which appears more appealing at the moment!
