Default Dropping the rear roof lining

    Guys,

    Anyone done this? Easy?

Need to replace the base rubber on ours as its split and perrished (DAB Aerial Base).

Understand that you have to drop the rear lining to get access to remove the aerial base.

    Any tips welcome

    thanks

I did it last week to replace my aerial base due to it leaking..... There is a how2 for installing a rear interior light in the how2 section that shows you how to drop the rooflining down.. It took me about 30-45 mins to complete the job.
Bit of advice....grab some black sealant and apply this to the new base around the hole locations as a back up.....

Nope went to vx dealer and they dont sell rubber base seperately (not suprised).... A standard aerial base came in at £46+VAT ouch.......
A search on ebay £14.99 plus £3 delivery for one 2nd hand but in good condition. But im sure ive read somewhere that an astra rubber base fits the vec c dab ones with a bit of stretching.

All rubber is perishable!! It continuously cures, thats why it continues to harden and eventually perish.

I know but what I meant was that it didnt have to be made from natural rubber.

There are synthetics used in many components on cars, I've never had an aerial rubber rot like that on such a new car.

    It's an inferior component.

Have all of your suspension rubbers rotted, how about all of your door seals & coolant hoses; replaced all of those yet?
