    Default JLock's Progress thread

This has been copied and pasted from another forum but shows the transformation of my motor! Enjoy folks

Im not sure on time frames but i bought the car around July/August 09 and it looked like this.

    First mod

The car is never without this little fella!

Homemade vaux alloy tax disk holder

Debadged + irmy badge. A set of Richbrook door pins were added at some point but i dont seem to have any pics so far.

Stayed like this for a month or so then bumper off

    On with the fog surrounds

Then along came my birthday (December) and one pressie of a kind father later...

The old man came in top trumps with the christmas present too! Now everyone knows who i am!

    A little present from myself!

Stayed like this for a month or two

Then i decided to pop an induction kit on!

Then it was Mr Richs time to come to the rescue with some tinted repeaters!

Along came a set of mudflaps... (still have the fronts to put on!)

Sitting pretty at Cosford alongside Mitch's *Nova*

    Time for a trial fit...

Then a trip to Drinkys chop shop brought it up to how it sits today...

I was up doing some work in the garden up in Scotland this weekend so thought id take advantage of the weather and take some pics! Its a shame the car was dirty but i forgot to take my cleaning stuff up with me!
    Enjoy!

Stuck an i badge on the lower grill.I tried to stick it on with the sticky pad at 1st but that didnt work so i pulled that off and glued it on... Its been on for about a month now and it still going strong

Well today i took a trip to a certain "Chop Shop" we all know of to have a couple of things added to the car
1st pic is just after the HIDs were fitted, looks so much better, just need to get some night shots now to show them off properly!

Then the exhaust mentioned above was also fitted, which meant i had great fun on my drive home back across Hartside It sounds awesome when accelerating and tickover (As im sure Drinky will agree ) but on the motor way its silent which i didnt think would be possible but im very impressed! The rest of the pics were taken when i got home and gave her a well deserved wash! I also added a couple of stickers ive had lying about for a little while now. I think they look spot on too! Im over the moon with the car the way it is now I keep grinning like a cheshire cat when i see it

You can see how much brighter they are than standard bulbs here

    McRae sig.

    Exhaust

Then the bad news from today.... Lets play a game. "Whats wrong with this photo"

Yeah, Some little chav scum had a go at it whilst i was at the gym today. Theyve near on pulled the whole mirrors off trying to get at the chrome covers The one thats missing is all bent and the mirror glass has come out and the mirrors themselves seem very loose now.

Little *****. It just doesnt look the same without the chrome mirrors

Although it seems like the glass can be glued back in and the mirrors tightened again from the inside which is good news. So its just the 40 quid mirror covers down the drain.
Ive been having a go with some vinyl this weekend... Heres the results. Still to do the fog surrounds and the other mirror but i like it so far

I got bored of the carbon fibre so that came back off again. I much prefer the grill without the vinyl now its off
The 1st two pics were taken a few months ago when my mum got her new dslr. Then the 3rd one was from when i ripped the vinyl off

And here is a couple from this weekend. I gave it a good clean and wax ready for a meet up here on sunday. Oh and ive also added some wind deflectors (again sorry for the quality of the phone pics)

Got a couple nice beading pics on my phone this morning!

Took a few pics today Enjoy

And my favourite pic of the day

i went to the total vauxhall event at Knockhill a couple weeks ago so the car got a thorough whack with the detailing stick. Heres a couple pics i took after the spring clean:

Ps. dont worry the 2.2T badge has now been replaced with the original 2.2direct badge now as some **** stole it over christmas. I also painted the rear calipers again over the weekend and just have the fronts to do now. But apart from that it looks the same as above. I'm not planning on doing anything more to it now, just enjoy it how it is for now. Then hopefully replace it towards the end of the year after i have graduated and have a real job!

Yeah it does make a bit of a difference. You hear it sucking the air in, ut the only problem is the 180deg bend in the pipe, but ive definitely not noticed any reduction in performance by this but coupled with the exhaust it sounds awesome
