    Default CDR2005: Skipping CD's issue?

Got a CDR2005 in my car.

When playing CDR's of my own, burned from my music collection on the PC, they tend to skip a fair bit. At first I thought it maybe had something to do with the quality of the blank CDR's, as the couple I've done so far have been on "average" quality discs?.

Does this unit have known issues with playing CDR's?. Anyone else had any hassle with them?.

It seems to play original CD's fine.

I noticed mine skipped on one but not the other checked the dodgy one and noticed a couple of finger prints on it, cleaned and all ok now.

I had a problem with my old Vectra playing copied discs, I don't remember the model but it had a cassette & 4 disc changer. It skipped all the time, however when I got my new pc the copies made on that worked perfectly. Try some discs copied elsewhere if possible

    Think you'll find it's a trait with the CDR2005, basically, it's cr4p!

Best discs i've found that worked consistently in this unit (though not 100%) were memorex discs with black bottoms.

Don't burn over 10speed and mine all work. Same burner on max speed had music stopping and starting all over the place.

Posted this question over on the OcUK forums and they said something similar.

Burn at lowest speed to be sure of quality and use good CDR's, like perhaps Verbatim ones.

Will try that tomorrow and see how it goes.

I've noticed a few burned CD's skip a bit on my CD 30.

The same burned CD's that work on my CDR 2005 wouldn't work on CD30's that I had in several courtesy cars.
