105A or 140A alternator?

About my post last night - I have figured I need an alternator.

I have seen a few on ebay, but wondering what will have been fitted on my car as standard? - its a 2004 1.9 CDTi 150 SRi.

Seen alternators for 105 or 130/140 amps.

I do have a sub in the boot, so if the car will take it then I may try and go for a 130/140a alternator?

Well - as im having to sort this out tonight, iv just popped out from work to the local CES car parts.

Paid £140 (after £70 surcharge) for a DriveTec 105a re-manufactured unit.
The box looks very "ASDA Smartprice" but it should do the job - came with a years warranty so we will see what happens.

Fitting after work tonight - will let you know how things go!

my alternator went on mine last week , replaced with a 140amp unit . my car is a signum 150 cdti

Larger is better. You could need more power (along with a larger battery) if you decide one day to upgrade your audio setup. Just Choose the model matching your car, as there are different shapes.

Should be a 100A
However, as above, if you intend to add further electrical items then consider 140A
