cold start smoke and poor running engine

Hello , The vec (2.0 dti 2004) is doing weird on me .
When cold start , she smokes white and the engine runs poor
looks like unburned diesel .
also on lower revs the engine vibrates and some of the power is gone.
Glowplugs are new and checked ; they work fine.
Maf sensor is replaced . no check engine light. no fault codes.

I was wondering if anybody knows if there's a cranckshaft sensor on these.and if there is , where it is ? i can't find any

take the grey cover off the egr valve and check the valve is full open
the crank sensor is at the bottom front of the engine
