Default 2.2 SRI cheap rear shock

My rear shock are shot I will fit myself but anyone know of cheap replacements. A motor factor near me has them for 75inc the pair and they stated that all models use the same shock. I would have thought they might be stiffer but maybe thats the anti-roll and springs job?

    Thankyou

SRi shocks are different, they are 15mm shorter stroke, so no, not all the dampers are the same..you need to get the one's specific to the vehicle.

The VX one's appear to be Part number 93173258, and for the record there are 4 different variations for your car alone..

Thanks for that, was surprised that the length was the same.
4 variations, why am I not surprised as the roll bar had 3 types but mine was thicker then all listed ones, even the police models.

Anyone have the trade price from VX?

Spoke to my 'bloke' at the dealers, and dependant on chassis number the part number will vary.. it also depends on what options are on the car..

He said that they would all be within a few pence of each other anyway.. without the VIN nUmber or the REG plate he said it would be £34.30+V each..

thats for part number 93187201.. but the number i gave earlier would still be valid, dependant on VIN number..

Your a star. My car has every option so is half the speed of a standard SRI LOL.
I can get trade if I time it correctly, so I will arm myself with the VIN, although the bar-codes are still on the old shocks so maybe I will take a picture of them as well.

    Thanks again.

    go for it..

the shocks are sooo easy to change for yourself, if you can get a wheel off, you can do the job yourself and save loads of dosh!!

take all the info you can, or better, take the car in as well.. look for any yellow stickers with two letters on as well, that will help the parts guys as well..

Will do. Have taken the shocks of already and yes easy as long as you have a 16 and 15 socket/spanner.

Still think I will have knocking @ the rear but I did get all the bushes and links checked and all ok, although the inner top bush (on the alloy arm) is very very difficult to see. The person checking mine said that could fail and on the MOT the tester would struggle to see a problem as the suspension is loaded.

Will get these on order soon.
