Bushes !!

Hi all,

It was suggested, by a friend, that I consider getting some uprated (Polycarbonate/Polyeurothane ??) suspension bushes when I get the suspension sorted.

Apparently they will be MUCH better than the standard ones and should help with braking/handling ??

Does anyone know anything about these, how much they cost, and where I could get some if its worth having ??

hi spoons - only experience i have of these is on my old Mk1 Golf racer, fitted polybushes all-round replacing all the 'rubber' standard bushes. Basically a polybush is a suspension bushing made of urathane/metal instead of a normal road cars rubber/metal

benefits : better control of suspension, through less movement of bushes under extreme braking/manouvering

downside : ****** awfull ride quality on public roads, basically there is no 'isolation' from road vibration that a standard rubber bush gives

from my experience they do not suit cars used on roads every day, if youv'e got a 'weekend warrior' or track day car they are a good mod.

not sure where you'd get vectra ones from - somebody like 888 racing would be a good start point

Have a look on this web site. I had them on an RST and were great for handling but ride comfort is lost some what!
