have you clean the inlet manifold as mine kept giving me p400 error and i cleaned the boost presure sensor and egr but i was still getting the code coming up so i cleaned inlet and since then i hav'nt had any trouble with it . i could'nt take apart my maf it was a big sealed tube . i could see the sensor but it was covered by some sort small filter so i left it and my egr was electronic so all i could do was clean it .

Mine's the same, not sure if it's supposed to be or not but on other MAF's there's usually a thermic resistor there for air temperature. I'm wondering if mine's disappeared too

yes cleaned it and egr and map and maf cleaned with break cleaner. if i look into the maf tube you can see to metal prongs coming down at the top where the maf sensor is conected but the two prongs dont seam to be conected????? on all videos the utube has regarding maf sensors the two prongs are conected and when the engine runs the air flow cools the metal tread that conects the two prongs and there for vereates the air and fuel mixture... im not sure if the vectra works in this way. due to the videos on utube are on older cars. my car will run fine on tic over and the fault is tempremental it can go 3 4 days with out a problem then one day where the spanner light comes on all the time giving me some times p400 some times p100 and some times both p100 & p400

Does this help you with testing the MAF http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h34.pdf ??

If the engine is hooked up to a diagnostics, most software can energise, run and test the EGR to determine if it's working or not.

Hi all, you can pick up OE maf for about 50:00 on ebay ,just put the number on your unit, the MAF erodes with all the air flowing over it,you can remove the centre unit by undoing the screws on top and wiggle it out it has an o ring ,but be carefull, all you should use is mild detergent or alchohol based cleaner. Hope this helps.

I've robbed the air temp sensor off an old spare Bosch MAF i had in the garage, and put it in the empty prongs of my Vectra MAF. Hey Presto!! It's registering an intake teperature now on the program beginning with "O"

Took it out for a drive and the diference is instantly noticeable, and the error code has not returned since
