    Default Changing 3rd brake light

Hi, I have an 03 Vectra Hatchback and I have just purchased a tinted 3rd brake light, but I have read differing reports as to how to remove the existing red one, some say you remove it from outside, others to remove from inside. I was wondering if anyone can shine any light on this for me? thanks

Ryan i changed mine a while back,my car is a saloon model,i got an old credit card and cut it into 6 pieces,on the new light you`ll see that there is 3 metal clips at the top and 3 clips at the bottom of the light.Wedge the pieces of credit card in between the light(FROM THE OUTSIDE) and the rim of your bodywork and carefully ease the light out with a small screwdriver, its a bit fiddly but it will come out(just mind your paintwork),then just change over the power connection and push in your new one,i did mine in about 5 mins.HTH

Can it be done by removing the lining on the inside of the door?

No it just reveals a metal frame when you remove the trim, you cant get at it from the inside

pre 54 reg can be removed from the inside, but you have to drill 3 holes to reveal the allen key bolts, after 54 reg there is no frame covering it, and no allen key bolts either, so from the inside you can just removing them by pressing the clips together with your fingers.....

Exactly how I did mine on my old saloon. Old credit card cut into six bits, jam them in behind the metal clips from the outside to release them and it should just pop out.

Hi, does anyone have one of these going? I recently changed my rear lights to clear indicator lens ones and want a clear/smoked 3rd brake light to go with it.
