    rolleyes A Cheeky Little Ask......

Hi Guys, Russ here. I've been on and off the site for many years, March 2007 I first started posting on this forum, and last year I started the vectra-c.com Facebook page. In that time, I have met many a character, who are always welcoming when I pop back in!

Anyway, to get to the point, I'd like all members past and present, and all those that know me and the bullet, to read the following and visit the site links.

    ************************************************** ********

On the 25th March 2012, members of 29 Sqn, Raf Coningsby, and some friends, will be running the Lincoln 10k in aid of the Not Forgotten Association.

So far, 52 members of 29 Sqn, including friends, have pledged to run this race to help raise funds! Our target is £500, but we would love to raise over the £1000 milestone for this great cause!

    ************************************************** ********
To sponsor the lads please visit: http://bit.ly/tRWAVN

    or, to sponsor by text,

Text XXXR99 £* to 70070, replacing the * with amount of whole £ you wish to sponsor!

For example, to sponsor us £2, Text: XXXR99 £2 to 70070. Simples!

    ************************************************** ********
    The Charity: http://www.nfassociation.org/

Providing entertainment and recreation for the serving wounded and the ex-service community with disabilities. The Association offers leisure, recreational, sporting and adventure activities which many of us often take for granted. However, for the thousands of injured and wounded serving and ex-service men and women, many of who are lonely and vulnerable, their support can bring genuine happiness, a much needed boost and something to which they can look forward.

    Thanks for visiting!

Anything you can give is greatly appreciated, but if you can't spare a £ or two, just spreading the word will also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading my cheeky little request, and I hope you all had a good Xmas and New Year!

    Regards,

    Russ (thegoldenbullet)

Thanks Pete. They really do a lot of great things for injured servicemen past and present and are massively over shadowed by the help for heroes charity.

    Default Progress Update

Did my first run of the year yesterday.

2.06 miles in 20:00 followed by 5 x 160m sprints with 160m walking rest periods.

Legs aching like hell, but it will all be worth it in the end!

£93 raised on online donations with a few offline donations as well!!!

    Cheers

    Russ

70 min training run done. Nice slow 10:40 - 11:00 per mile pace.

Managed to cover 6.35 miles! (Thats more than 10k!!!)

If I can cover 15 miles by my birthday (May 27th), I'm going to enter the Mablethorpe Marathon in October!

If it helps a single injured serviceman, its worth it!

    Thank you!

Not only has it made a massive dent into the fund raising target, its given me the motivation to go for the 7 mile run I have planned this afternoon. To say enthusiasm was low would be an understatement! I shall now run it with a wee smile!

    Thanks again!
